Redkite Gives – Happy Holidays!

Redkite’s people work hard all year delivering great project work for our clients. But we also make time to support our local community through our Redkite Gives program.

This holiday season, we’ve worked together with several local charities to bring cheer to kids in New York City.

The Redkite team became Santa’s helpers through the New York Cares “Winter Wishes” program. We cunningly intercepted letters to Santa from over 60 elementary students in  Rockaway Beach, and our team got to work making sure each that child would receive the gift they most desire this year. One mass trip to Toy-R-Us later, we were wrapping and writing notes on every gift. We had a great time as stand-in elves!

We were also delighted to get a chance to work with Exploring Paths and The Leaders Institute on a fun and engaging bike-building project. Exploring Paths works with the YMCA to teach city kids how to ride bicycles, to encourage them to explore their cities. A new bike was therefore on top of many holiday lists for the kids they work with.

Fiona Dawson of The Leaders Institute led us through some creative problem-solving, and added obstacles and surprise throughout our team activity. But the talent and perseverance of Redkite’s staff shone through, so we were able to build six bicycles in one productive Friday afternoon. [Added bonus: we also learned how to remember all the original 13 states of the USA. Do you know what they are?]

We were very happy to be able to make a contribution to these worthy causes. If you want to support these charities, please follow the links below and consider a tax-deductible donation or volunteering your time.
